Lives and works in Milan

Simone Bonanni found inspiration in the classics of the schools of architecture and design of the 1920s-30s to design a family of chairs and tables whose supporting structures are made of cut and bent steel sheets. This technique makes it possible to obtain sculptural and at the same time very robust forms. The shell, characterised by thin slats, also in steel, makes the chair almost transparent, accentuating its composed elegance. For the tables Simone Bonanni has designed a simple and delicate architecture which the construction technique makes rigid and elegant. The position of the table top, slightly detached from the structure, produces a sense of refined lightness.

Gao is a range of outdoor and indoor furniture whose progenitor, the chair, is a physically and aesthetically balanced object. Made of steel, like all Gao furniture, it is incredibly robust and yet visually light.

The timeless design and steel structures make these products aesthetically and physically durable.
Their rigorous appearance is made approachable thanks to the wide range of colours of the various components. This includes metal structures (protected by an anti-corrosion treatment  – or galvanization on request – and powder-coated), cushion fabrics and tabletops. The latter are available in metal, HPL (High Pressure Laminate) and PaperStone®.
